SIAMagnum Social & Medical Care, in cooperation with theNational Health Service and partner SIA Blue Bridge Technologies, has launched a pilot project aimed at digitalising and modernisingthe organisation of health and social care services in Latvia.
The goal of the project is to reduce risks associated withpaper-based workflows and fragmented technological solutions, whileimproving the quality and safety of services.
As part of the pilot initiative, the Rūre socialcare centre will implement a system developed by the technologycompany SmartMedical, specifically tailored both forlong-term care institutions and for home-based patient care. Thesystem will be tested in real-life operations, and the results willserve as a basis for national-level implementation guidelines.

The new system will combine several essential processes in oneenvironment: patient documentation and movement tracking, medicationprescriptions, vaccination planning, telemedicine services, andquality management tools. It will be fully compatible with thee-Health platform and the National Health Service systems, ensuringsecure data exchange and confidentiality.
“This project represents a step forward — away from papernotes and numerous separate systems that needed to be aligned. We aremoving towards a unified digital solution that will make the work ofcare professionals easier and patient care safer,” explainsKristiāns Dāvis, head of SIA Magnum Social &Medical Care (Rūre).
The project will result in a data-driven evaluation of the system,an improved prototype, and guidelines for broader implementationacross the country.
Project No. 41, “Implementation of a Unified ElectronicManagement System for Client, Health and Social Care Services”,has a total duration of 24 months and a budget of EUR636,620.04 (incl. VAT).
