HISTORY

IDEA

Rūre was born out of silence - a silence without answers. As a young surgical resident, Kristiāns Dāvis often met patients in the final stage of illness. When treatment ended, families would ask the painful question: “What happens next?” The state and the system remained silent, leaving Kristiāns with only one reply -“I don’t know.” That “I don’t know” became the seed destined to grow into bread.

From the conviction that every person and family deserves support, the idea of Rūre took root - a refuge and a system where care continues when the hospital no longer can. A place that unites senior care, support for people with chronic illness, and palliative care - both in facilities and at home.

BEGINNING

The first steps were not easy. More than a year and a half passed from the first thought to real walls. We found a home in Liepāja - in a former kindergarten building waiting for new life. We turned to ALTUM for support and, despite the challenges of the pandemic and the war, on May 31, 2022, Rūre opened its doors.

At the same time, in 2021, together with the Ministry of Health and with the support of European structural funds, we began shaping a new model - mobile palliative care at home. This was another dream of Rūre: to make sure people receive help where they feel safest - at home, surrounded by family. We built a team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, nutrition specialists, and chaplains. This model became the foundation for what is today a state-funded service across Latvia.

TODAY

Today, more than 110 people work at Rūre in Liepāja, while across the entire organization we employ around 400 professionals. Each of them is a part of our story - caregivers and nurses, doctors and social workers, rehabilitation specialists and technical support staff. Together, we provide mobile palliative care throughout Kurzeme, Latgale, as well as in Riga and the surrounding region. In addition, we offer other health and care services, including outpatient care and the rental of medical equipment.

Rūre was born as an answer to the question: “What happens next?” And our answer will always be - to be there.

PROJECTS

SIA “Magnum Social & Medical Care” ir noslēdzis četrus Līgumus ar Centrālo finanšu un līgumu aģentūru (CFLA) par sekojošu Projektu īstenošanu ar Atveseļošanās fonda atbalstu:
